Terms and conditions
Effective November 1, 2011

Flight Instruction. Instruction will be billed for both flight and ground instruction time.

General Instruction. $45.00 per Hr. (SEL, MEL Instrument)
Flight Review* $110.00
Instrument recurrency* $150.00

*Flight Instruction performed in client’s aircraft. Include required ground and flight instruction. If additional instruction is recommended to achieve competency, this will be billed at general rate.

Ferry and Delivery services.

Domestic flights, Daily rate, $300.00 per day or $55.00 per duty hour*
International flights Daily rate, $400.00 per day or $70.00 per duty hour*

*Duty hour includes flight planning, aircraft preparation, re-fueling and flight planning.

Reimbursable flight expenses may include:

Airspace use fees, “flight handling” fees
Flight planning and weather briefing fees.
One time chart, publication or data base purchases.
Rental of special equipment: i.e. life rafts, exposure suit etc.
Any Enroute maintenance required
All fuel, oil, tie down, ramp, hangar, ground handling or landing fees.

Aerial Photography Support.

Pilot & Aircraft (CE-172M): $195.00 per flight hour (includes fuel*)
Stand-by time: $65.00 per on site hour.

Aircraft set up & mission modifications that are mission specific will be billed at standard Mountain Hawk Aviation maintenance shop rate of $70.00 per hour, straight “time & materials”.


A. If the assignment requires clearance into “restricted” or “special use airspace”, International clearance or other special pre-flight planning considerations, up to a 3 hour pilot fee may apply. Any fees for clearances, waivers etc. will be billed at cost.

B. Professional Photographer available at $75.00 per hour (not on staff)

C. Equipment rental will be billed at cost.

D. * Fuel surcharge may apply if “on site” fuel costs exceed 15% of fuel costs at Tehachapi Airport.

1. For operations outside the immediate Tehachapi California area (125 Nm radius) or for more than an eight hour duty day, the following additional costs may apply apply:

A. For operations outside the US that requires approval by any foreign CAA additional costs may apply.

B. Overnight travel expenses to or from Tehachapi Ca. will be charged as follows:
Travel time will be billed at $300.00 per day (US) $360.00 per day (International).
Meals will be billed at $60.00 per day in the US, $100.00 Europe, $75.00 for Latin America.

C. Mileage in company or personal vehicles will be billed at current IRS mileage rates. A fuel surcharge may apply depending on current fuel prices.

D. Flight time in Company or personal aircraft to location will be billed at $135.00 per flight hour plus Enroute expenses and fuel* as required. (Driving or flights to locations within the Van Nuys FSDO area will be billed $135.00 plus fuel surcharge* as deemed necessary).

E. The following pilot reimbursable expenses will be billed at direct cost to the client:

Commercial air travel/airline expenses to or from the aircraft being ferried.
Hotel accommodations while Enroute or at photo location/assignment.
Ground transportation expenses including taxi, rail, bus or rental vehicles.
Telephone, FAX International communication fees
Postage, FED-EX/UPS or courier services
In house or contract printing, duplication or publishing.
Data download fees.
