Inspection Authorization Services

Annual/Progressive Inspections:
Providing the "Quality Assurance" inspection to verify compliance and mechanical integrity. I can provide both "in progress" and "Final" pre-close-up inspection services.

FAA Form 337:
In Process and Final inspections for Major Repairs or Alteration, including document preparation, approval for return service and submission to FAA.

Aircraft Data & Records:
Research and verification of maintenance records, history, A.D.s and TCDS research. Reconstruction of lost or missing records.

Qualifications and Experience

I have over thirty years experience in the Aviation world. I hold the following FAA certificates & ratings:

  • Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR-T)
  • Inspection Authorization
  • Certified Flight Instructor CFI CCFII MEI
  • Mechanic, Airframe & Powerplant
  • Commercial Pilot, SEL MEL Inst.

My experience and training include a wide range of General Aviation and Military aircraft including King Air series (PT6-A Qualified) CL-600, Most Cessna, Piper Raytheon/Beechcraft and Mooney. Military experience includes F-111, F-4, F-105, T-38, F-16 and B-52 types.

I also have extensive background in Flight Test support, Instrumentation and Avionics installations, and the Technical Data verification studies that accompany such activities.

As a DAR-T and IA I have the training and ability to assist with the Compliance needs of the General Aviation world.

As the former Owner-Operator of a Part 145 repair station and former Part 135 Director of Maintenance I can assist in any compliance issues you may have.

Maintenance DAR-T Services
I am a Designated Airworthiness Representative with the following function codes:

Function Code 23 – Issue recurrent standard airworthiness certificates for U.S. registered aircraft, including recurring approvals for engines, propellers, parts and appliances that conform to the approved design requirements and are in a condition for safe operation. Limitations: Limitations: Fixed-wing 12,500 lbs.

Function Code 24 – Issue recurrent standard airworthiness certificates for non-U.S. manufactured aircraft imported from countries other than the country of manufacture with whom the United States has a bilateral agreement(s). Limitations: Fixed-wing 12,500 lbs.

Function Code 25 – Issue recurrent special airworthiness certificates for U.S . registered restricted category aircraft. Limitations: Fixed-wing 12,500 lbs.

Function Code 28 – Issue recurrent/original special airworthiness certificate, in the Experimental Category, for the purpose of market survey, research and development, and crew training on U.S. registered aircraft. Limitations: Fixed-wing 12,500 lbs.

Function Code 29 – Issue special flight permits for U.S. registered aircraft for the purposes outlined in section 21.197(a)(1), (2), (3), (4), and 21.197(b). (Ferry Permit). Limitations: None. As DAR I can issue Ferry Permits in many foreign countries.

Function Code 33 – Issue replacements for lost, stolen, or mutilated standard or special airworthiness certificates if the proper documentation can be obtained from the applicant. Limitations: None.
